Historical Preservation Overlay Zone
An Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ) is a city-designated district composed of a group of buildings (either an entire neighborhood or part of a neighborhood) which are related to each other historically, architecturally and/or culturally. Both South Carthay (for many years) and Carthay Circle (more recently) have been awarded HPOZ status.Additional information on HPOZ's can be downloaded from the L.A. Conservancy website.
